23 reviews of Alta Lake State Park "We stayed at the Alta Lake State Park campground this past weekend for one night during our trip around the North Cascades Highway Loop. We arrived here on Saturday evening to find the place hopping with beach goers and and groups bbqing. We quickly realized this was going to be a rowdy campground as there were people and cars everywhere.

Alta Lake State Park has 115 campsites (32 with full hookups) and is located next to the lake in a high-desert/mountain setting. Two group campsites are also available. RVs are okay, but no hookups are available. The campground is open early April through October. Check-in time is 2:30pm and check-out is 1:00pm.
